Maximiliano Baños

Maximiliano Baños is an Argentinian countertenor.

He started his formation at the age of 10 studying piano and choir.

He studied singing and choir direction at the National University (UNR) in Rosario, Argentina.

In 2010 he settled in Europe and entered Lyon’s CNSMD (France) and later Milan’s Scuola Civica (Italy).

He has collaborated with various ensembles: Elyma, Accademia Bizantina, Accademia d’Arcadia, La Chimera, Chiome d’Oro, Musica Temprana, Biscantores, among others.

He performed at some important festivals of ancient music in Europe like: Festival d’Ambronay, Festival Bach in Lausanne, Saint Dennis Festival, Innsbruck Festival, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg, Monteverdi Festival, Potsdam Sanssouci Festival.

He made concerts all around Europe. In 2010 he made a tournée for Latinoamerica with the Ensemble Elyma and in 2014 he presented his album «Misa Criolla and popular devotion in Early Music» recorded with Musica Temprana and toured in Holland.

He has recorded for the labels Passacaille, K617, Tactus, Arcana, Cobra, Co’l Partire, for Radio France, and the culture TV channels Arte and Culturebox.

Since 2013 Maximiliano Baños teaches ensemble music at the Rencontres Baroque de Montfrin, France (G. Garrido).

He conducts the Choir & the Ensemble “Voz Latina” of the Latin American Association in Cremona (Italy) interested in the interpretation and the diffusion of the latin-american repertoire.
