Alaa Arsheed is a musician and composer.

He was born in 1985 in Swaida, Syria. In 2011 while he was a music student at the High Musical Institute in Damasco, he ran away from Siria and he moved to Libano. He took with him just his violin and some belongings.

In 2015 he received a scholarship in Italy by Fabrica, a research center on communication. Since then he performs live and he has released his first CD Album with Fabrica : Sham.

In the same year he met the Italian actor Alessandro Gassmann, ambassador of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) who was working on a documentary on the Syrian artist refugees. The resulting documentary Torn was funded by the UNHCR and presented at the 2015 Venice Film Festival.

He also starred as lead actor in Amira, a short movie about love and prejudice directed and written by Luca Lepone, winner of the MigrArti award during the 73rd Venice Film Festival by a jury headed by Ferzan Ozpetek.

He’s actually the President of the association “AlphaArts”, specialized in Art and Communication.
