Valeria Galluccio

Valeria Galluccio, was born in Naples in 1998. She studied ballet and modern dance under the artistic direction of Annalisa Cernese.

During her training, she joined the “Arsenale della Danza”, a training program in contemporary dance created by Ismael Ivo as part of the Venice Biennale.

In 2008 she began her professional career by making her debut as a soloist in: “Glass Room”, choreography by Eleonora Folegnani, project sponsored by the Biennale di Venezia Danza.

For the next 3 years, she interpreted the main roles in Ismael Ivo’s works.

Since 2011 she is part of the Marie Chouinard Company based in Montreal (Canada), and she also collaborates with Marie Chouinard in the creation of new works: “Gymnopédie (2013), Soft Virtuosity, Still Humid on the Edge (2015), Jérôme Bosch: Les jardins des délices (2016), Radical vitality, solos et duos (2018). Marie Chouinard created specifically for Valeria “Conférence dansée #2” (2017) and the duo “let me cry” (2019) with Sacha Ouellette as partner.

Valeria is invited to held workshops of the Marie Chouinard company repertoire both in Montreal and abroad.

In her career she received the award as “Best Italian interpret abroad” by the magazine Danza&Danza, the Positano “Léonide Massine” award as “dancer of the year on the international scene” and in recent years she obtained the “Sfera d’oro per la danza” award as leading Italian dancer on the international scene, debuting as choreographer for the solo “S.H.E’S Moving” performed by herself, during the festival “Korperperformer” in Naples.
